The Spokane County Sheriff's Office Explorer program provides a valuable learning environment in which Explorers gain practical experience and knowledge in the law enforcement career.

The Explorers program provides trainings in the following areas: criminal law, criminal procedure, domestic violence, traffic stops, firearms, defensive tactics, report writing, and defensive driving.
These are only some of the trainings that are offered to the Explorers. Some trainings can include instructors from specialty units such as SWAT (Special Weapons and Tactics), ASU (Air Support Unit), EOT (Emergency Operations Team), EDU (Explosive Disposal Unit), and more.

We meet every 1st, 3rd, and 5th (if applicable) Wednesday of each and month (excludes holidays & academy).
Some meetings may also take place at the Training Center, range, racetrack, hangar, etc. depending on the training that is being conducted for that day. For the most up to date meeting location, please contact explorers@spokanesheriff.org.
